A Day as Blind Mag

Here are the photos and the elements I used to create my costume as Blind Mag from Repo! The Genetic Opera. I wore this to my high school, and was drawing stares all day. I actually smiled at my teacher's niece and she started to cry.

This is pretty much everything that I used that was totally essential to the look. Along with this I wore a violet dress with knit wristbands, fishnet stockings, and black heeled boots.

These are the contact lenses that I used for my costume. The crazy eyes are an extremely important part of the Blind Mag look. I had never worn contacts before, and I likely never will again. They were very uncomfortable and I couldn't see very well. These were not perscription lenses, so maybe perscriptions would be less painful.

These were the lashes that I used. I bought one pair at Sally's beauty supply and the other at Meijer in the Halloween section. I love false lashes, and these worked very well for the costume. The only problem I have with false lashes is that the glue makes my eyes itch, which was really terrible on top of the irritating contacts.

In the movie Mag gouges her soon-to-be reposessed eyes out with long claws very similar to these. I already had these in fact, I got them at Halloween USA a few years back.

This was the different makeup I used. The eyeshadow pallet, lipstick, and pencil liner are from Revlon. The gel liner is from Morbid, the pink eyeshadow is from Manic Panic, and the white cream makeup is just basic oil makeup.

I didn't have an accessory similar to Mag's in the movie, so I made this. I took the headband from a broken pair of cat ears and taped it back together. Then I cut out a piece of cardboard of the correct size. I painted both of these black. I made the studs out of folded paper which I then painted silver. Since everything in our house is in boxes, it took me close to and hour to find glue to glue the parts together. After all that, the cardboard would not sit flush on the headband, so I used ribbon to keep it in place.

This is what my eye looked like after I took everything off. Thanks a lot, contacts.

Spider Web Design

I have been meaning to try a spiderweb design for quite a while. Here's my little experiment.

This is the makeup look that I did to imitate Jefree Star. This was a lot of fun, but it took me like an hour just to cover my eyebrows - then almost two more hours to put on the makeup. Conveniently him and I already have similar hair.

Spider Look

Here are some images of the look I will be using in my upcoming tutorial. You can expect to see my tutorial in the near future. This is sort of a spider-like look, my inspiration came from an artist on deviantart.com with the username mrzn89. It may take a while to come up with the video, I hope people enjoy it. -CadyJP

Hands

This is a manipulation project inspired by the artwork of Sandy Skoglund. The question it poses is - who do those hands belong to?
